Honda Accord sedan shift lever lock

A mileage of about 80,000 km, configuration K24A4 engine and automatic transmission, the Honda Accord sedan . The car had water due to engine overhaul , then auto diagnostic tools appeared the following symptoms : Start the engine , toggle lever , shift lever can not be linked into the D bits from the P position, the vehicle can not travel .

After receiving the car : use Mileage Program Tools diagnostic system for automatic transmission and engine systems diagnosis, no fault codes. See data flow engine system , the idle condition of the throttle opening degree is 30% , not normal ( normal should be about 9% ) . Disconnect the throttle position sensor 3-pin wiring harness plug, resistance measurements on the 1st and the 3rd between the terminals , as 9.9kΩ ( normal should be 5. 7 kΩ), the No. 1 and No. 2, the resistance between terminals 9 . 9 kΩ ( normal should be 5. 7 kΩ), between the 2nd and the 3rd terminal resistance is 1. 6kΩ ( normal should be 1. 1 kΩ). The above results suggest that the throttle position sensor to detect damage . Replace the throttle body ( throttle position sensor and the throttle body integrated , can not be replaced individually ) , commissioning , fault completely ruled out.

Engine inlet leading to the throttle position sensor damage . Water from the throttle shaft into the throttle position sensor inside , causing the Original Launch X431 Tool slide potentiometer resistance becomes larger , power system control unit according to the throttle position sensor signal to determine the degree of throttle opening is large, the engine does not idle condition . In order to protect the engine and automatic transmission, power system control unit sends a command signal , device control lever lock solenoid through the multiplexer control, the shift lever is locked in P position, the vehicle can not travel .
